Optical Mirrors
Optical mirrors consist of a polished substrate that is coated with a thin, reflective material on the front surface. APO fabricates front-surface mirrors in a variety of substrate material and coating combinations.
Common substrate materials: ULE, zerodur, and other common optical glasses
Common mirror coatings: aluminum, silver, gold, dielectric, and others
Optical Windows
APO fabricates custom optical windows from a variety of materials in a wide range of sizes. Double-side polishing is used to create windows that meet customer specifications for parallelism, flatness, and surface cosmetics.
Wedges
Wedges are optical windows with deliberately non-parallel faces. As with optical windows, wedges are available in a wide range of materials and sizes, and they can be fabricated to customer specifications for wedge angle, surface flatness, and surface cosmetics.
Prisms
Prisms are used to reorient light via total internal reflection or to separate light into spectral components via index dispersion. APO fabricates prisms in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and materials. APO prisms are used for a variety of applications such as imaging systems to spectroscopy.
