John O’Herron founded Angstrom Precision Optics in 1998 in Rochester, NY. Since then, APO has grown from a 3-person, 1000-sq-ft shop into an 8000-sq-ft manufacturing facility with 17 employees. A team with more than 30 years of experience in the optical fabrication industry, along with continuous investment in equipment and personnel, has made APO a world leader in the polishing and CNC machining of optical materials. Customers are assured that 100% of the optical components supplied by APO are manufactured in the United States.

With the support of our partners in the Rochester optics community, we have been able to continuously serve our customers, and are actively planning a facilities expansion.
